Often log into this website and check on the results for East Grinstead FC, a club that was local to me not long ago. Used to go down now and again with my mad Springer Spaniel and watch a few games. What is going with the attendances at the club ? 25 people for Tuesday's game ! Seriously not good and it appears numbers are tailing off more and more lately

I saw the crowd for the Hassocks game. I think you have to factor in these points. England were on the TV. The game was postponed on Saturday and moved to Tuesday. The weather has been crap. People maybe unaware that there was a game on
The local papers coverage of East Grinstead Town is poor. Favouring the Rugby,Hockey clubs. Also my own feeling with Crawley Town in the football league we have lost people to them.
Pity you have moved away.

Glad to hear you are coming back one day. East Grinstead Town are a top club. Good people behind the scenes.
Will the Springer Spaniel return as well. All clubs need a mad dog.

Yes, Tilly will be back There was one game not long ago and we were standing behind the goal and the opposing goalkeeper was good natured enough, what with me and the barking dog being there .. then he let a goal in and another and another .. come half time, he went and complained about our Tilly barking and trying to get the ball .. he reckoned Tilly was putting him off lol so we had to move to the side of the ground ! I think Crowborough ended up winning about 6-0 Can't for the life of me remember who you were playing then, but their keeper was a right twat !

4 points against teams in the top 8. Def a two tier league and we're top of second tier.

The match caught me by surprise, as assumed we were playing away. Late switch. Was walking the mutt in the woods, heard the match going on, and managed to watch the last 10 mins in the wet and saw the goals. Well done lads for sticking at in on a grim day.

Congratulations to Simon and the team for a solid season of consolidation. We've got a good basis to push forward for next season. Enjoy the summer break everyone (British Lions Tour for me)

LOCAL PRESS ARTICLE
SIMON FUNNELL says his East Grinstead Town side are serious about going for promotion this season.
The Wasps, who finished eighth in the Sussex County League Division One last season, are looking to challenge towards the top end of the division this year and the Town boss says his side should be considered as real contenders.
"We are serious about going for promotion," he said. "Two good teams have gone out of the league in Peacehaven and Redhill and it looks like there will be one more if Rye or Lingfield move out of the league too.
"When you look at that we have got a good chance to go for it this year and we are looking forward to getting going for the new season." Funnell is looking to strengthen his squad ahead of the new campaign and this week secured his first signing of the summer in capturing former Crawley Down full-back Matt Geard. But despite playing predominantly in defence with the Anvils, Funnell says he sees Geard as more of a midfielder with his passing ability.
