hi, i recently attended the EGT firework display when it came to a stop after just 6 minutes. Due to injury the club promised a free display in 2-3 weeks. is this still going ahead? im very keen on attending again after also attending last year.
thanks, firework fan

This is a joke, i have asked a simple question and no one on the forum will comment? I don't expect to pay £15 for such a short display and to be ignored.
thanks, thanks a lot.

This official statement was issued some time ago on the egtfc website:
"First of all, the club would like to apologise to everyone who turned up on Saturday for the town’s firework display and left disappointed when the spectacular display had to be cut short.
Unfortunately, the pyrotechnical expert sustained a hand injury which required immediate hospital treatment and it was not considered safe to continue the display.
Our initial thought was to provide a free display as soon as possible in way of recompense but after consulting the police and safety authorities this was deemed impractical.
It is impossible to partially refund individuals as no tickets were issued on admission.
Instead, the club has decided to slash admission to next year’s event on November 5th 2011 with family tickets, for two adults and two children, costing just £10.
We have successfully staged this event since 1997 and this is the first year that we have encountered major problems. We will be doing all we can to ensure that our 2011 Fireworks Display is one to remember for all the right reasons and to give the people of East Grinstead the November 5th celebrations they deserve.
