A pretty even first half. With E G Town finishing the half on top. Crowboro only real chance of the game came in the first half when Phillips fired over. Looked to me as Fox saving it by tipping it over. We started the second half on top and it stayed like that for the rest of the game. We took the lead on 56 minutes when Reid and Watson combined well for Watson to score. The second was another well worked goal with Death and Reid working well together to score in the 71st minute. Crowboro tried to rally and bought on their manager Adams but to no avail. We are looking like a good side as always Chick and Watson causing problems. I feel Death and Reid work hard. E G Town Fox Etherington Wilson Major Lee Pelling Watson Gellatly Reid Death Chick EG Town subs Funnell Burns Ford Pressland Lardent. Ford for Major

A managed a boxing day double by seeing Grinstead and then heading to The Hill to watch a massacre by Crawley Down - I was glad I went to EG first!!
A good game to watch and two well -worked goals. I guess all EG can do now is win as many games as poss as the team have played so many more than most other sides, and hope that a few other sides mess up the games in hand.
Well done, keep it up.

Entertaining match. Reckon there were 150 in the crowd. First half was slow - a few hangovers on both sides. Watson and Gellalty controlled the second half. Was pure comedy when Crowborough manager came on - he looked more like one of those journeyman heavyweight boxers than a footballer. Crows were pretty negative, playing one up top for most of the game. Pelling solid at the back. Shame we had that spell of 4 points from 33 mid season. I note we are in the Brighton Cup competition, so silverware still up for grabs. See you all against Lancing. Mitch. :D

Glad the pair of you enjoyed yourselfs. Also coming up from Burgess Hill to see us play. Shame you lost yesterday. The reason we are in the Brighton Charity Cup is because we are so far ahead of everyone in terms of fixtures played. The way we are playing at the moment we may even win it. Which would be nice. The team is playing well at the moment. Everyone is on top of the game. I noticed the Lingfield Manager in the crowd yesterday. Their was a good attendence yesterday. Crowborough bought a few with them. So it will be interesting to see what the crowd is.

MLS - 133 was the crowd. Decent. Pitch looked in good nick from the photos I saw - so hope the forecast rain this afternoon/evening won't be too heavy and we can get the game in tomorrow. Does the new East Court pitch drain well, I remember in the past it was a bit of a mudbath? Cheers Lance.
