Per my last post - obviously some of those players also played 1st X1 but some didn't feature much. Happy Days.

Being a new boy to East Grinstead i've probably got no right to comment but I will anyway.
Of the current crop of players surely JP Collier, Rikki Cable, Peter Featherstone and Drew Cooney would all be in contention plus what about Dave Gellatley? Are we basing this on time served at the club or just ability?

Becks, in my opinion in the 30 years i've been watching Grinstead this is the most talented crop of players we have had.
However all the players listed in this thread have probably played well over a 100 games for the club.
Hopefully those in the current squad will stay around for a while and I'm sure then their names would be featured in this type of thread

That's an absolutely fair statement and I understand the sentiment which is why I thought I better just check the criteria we're looking at.
What about Dave Gellatley and Drew, they've played lots of games?

I like the look of HappyHammmers best East Grinstead XI. Looking at recent players and players from the past. I would change Kris Trevor for Liam Baitup. Maybe Stuart Hardy for Alan Lester. Sad to see Dave Gellatly is now at Redhill and Ben Burns

I really like this thread as lots of you are mentioning players that I've never heard of and it helps to build a picture of how the club's developed over the years.
Bruce would it be possible to get a list of players and let people vote for their favourites in an on-line poll?
I remember a player called Hinton who I think played for Grinstead, his Dad had played for Chelsea? If my memory serves me correctly he was supposed to be one of the best centre halves locally at that time.

Becks I think your idea of a on line poll is a good idea. I think that could be the way to go in finding the clubs all time best 11. Just like to add a left back for the reserves. He played one game in the not to distant past. Forget his name Talbot possibly. Anyone help?

That's it, Darren Hinton, not sure how long he played for Grinstead but remember he was a good player.
