Seems daft to me that the season is starting so early. I know we have a 22-team league this season but surely the fixture list could be trimmed by getting rid of at least one of the 'county' cup competitions. Anyway, good luck to Simon and the lads at Peacehaven tomorrow. We couldn't have wished for a tougher start - they will be one of the title challengers this season no doubt. What about us? Hard for me to say with much authority as I haven't seen any of the friendlies but the result against Burgess Hill was encouraging and by all accounts it was a good performance. Our new signings are: Liam Ahearne (ex BB Heath), Sam Cane (back from Crawley Down), Jonny Hampson and Tom Saunders (ex Crowborough), George Hillier (Horsham YMCA), Adam Davies (Hildenborough) and Brannon O'Neill (St Francis). Ben Chick, who is at Uni in Chichester, has dual-signed for us and Bognor. Hopefully he will be in the amber and black again but good luck to Chicky as he tries out at Ryman Prem level. Good to see Drew Cooney and Mannie Neville back in the squad and fully fit after their injury problems. That's like signing two new players to be fair. If you're not going on Saturday, please get along on Tuesday to the first home game to cheer on the boys. We need to get more supporters down to the GAC. I know there are lots of distractions these days. We know that the footy is often exciting and the banter in the stands a lot of fun. We just need to spread the word! COME ON THE WASPS!!!!

I agree with you Bruce, twenty two teams in the division is far too many. A very early start to the season. It is very hard to break into the top seven teams, we only took points against Hassocks. But since Simon's arrival we have become more consistant. I was impressed with Mannie Neville against Burgess Hill. Tom Saunders destroyed us at Crowborough so a good signing their. I will be going to Peacehaven. Remember Brighton are playing Chelsea in a Friendly. So i will be going via Newhaven.

Bruce - you don't post often which is a shame.
You are an absolute wasps legend. I've known you to run the line for the reserves, work on the tannoy, edit the program, write wasps whispers etc etc.
Hope you enjoy the season and all the best to TEAM EG.
